Doktorandenprogramm Industrielle Biotechnologie in Deutschland
Das struktuierstes Doktorandenprogramm im Bereich der industriellen Biotechnologie wird ab dem 26.04.2010 wieder neue Stellen ausschreiben. Das Programm richtet sich an exzellente Absolventen (M.Sc./Diploma) aus den Bereichen Biologie, Chemie, Biotechnologie, Bioinformatik, Chemieingenieurwesen und bietet dreijährige Promotionsstipendien, die mit 1500 EUR/Monat dotiert sind. Die Dauer der Doktorand/innenstipendien beträgt zunächst 1 Jahr mit der Möglichkeit zweier Verlängerungen um jeweils ein weiteres Jahr. Das Postdoc-Stipendium ist auf 2 Jahre begrenzt. Erwünscht sind gleichermaßen Bewerbungen, die zur gesamten historischen Breite kulturwissenschaftlicher Forschung beitragen, und solche, die sich der Analyse gegenwärtiger Phänomene widmen. Voraussetzung ist ein mit Prädikat abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium )Doktorand/innen) im Bereich der Geistes-, Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften. Von den Stipendiat/innen wird erwartet, dass sie ihren Wohnsitz in Gießen oder der nähreren Umgebung nehmen. Mit der Annahme eines Doktorand/innenstipendiums ist die Verpflichtung verbunden, sich an der Justus-Liebig-Universität als Doktorand/in anzumelden. Mit dem Stipendium ist die regelmäßige Teilnahme am Curriculum und den Veranstaltungen des GCSC sowie das Engagement in den GCSC-Forschungsbereichen verbunden. Das GCSC hat seine Forschungsschwerpunkte in folgenden Research Areas: Memorz Cultures, Culture and Narration, Culture and Identites, Political and Transnational Cultures, Cultures of Knowledge, Research and Education. Ausschreibung: Deutsch-russische Doppelabschlussprogramm Europastudien 2010/11 (Kaliningrad/Wuppertal)
Das Kaliningrader Europainstitut Klaus Mehnert nimmt bis zum 20. Juli Bewerbungen für seinen postgradualen Europastudiengang entgegen. Der derzeit einzige deutschsprachige Europastudiengang in Russland bietet die Möglichkeit, in nur einem Jahr einen russischen Diplom- und einen deutschen Master-Abschluss zu erwerben.
Studienziel: Ziel des einjährigen Studiums ist die Ausbildung von Europa-Generalisten: Den Studierenden wird ein vertiefter Einblick vermittelt in historische, politische, rechtliche, soziale und kulturelle Aspekte des gegenwärtigen Europa. Dabei stehen die Beziehungen Europas zu Russland, insbesondere am Beispiel der Ostseekooperation, im Vordergrund.
Studienverlauf: Nach einem ersten gemeinsamen Semester in Kaliningrad haben die Studierenden die Möglichkeit, zwischen einem Praktikum und einem Vertieftungsstudium an der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal (BUW) zu wählen. Bei einem Studium in Wuppertal absolvieren die Studierenden das Sommersemester 2011 im Rahmen des neu akkreditierten Master-Studiengangs Europäistik der BUW. Bei erfolgreichem Abschluss erwerben diese Studierenden dann neben dem russischen Diplom der Staatlichen TU Kaliningrad auch den deutschen Abschluss in Form eines Master of Arts. Die besten Absolventen werden mit dem Willy Brandt-Preis der Progressiven Allianz der Sozialisten und Demokraten im Europäischen Parlament ausgezeichnet, verbunden mit einem einmonatigen Praktikum in Brüssel und Straßburg.

For our 1-year Master of Science Programme, we are seeking for medical doctors, biologists, pharmacists and others professionals in health related sciences who are keen to develop a career in translation research and have proven their academic capability with an above average first degree. Suitable candidates will be supported to continue their research as a PhD student after completing this programme.

Trandlational Medical Research concentrates on the interface between experimental basis science and clinical medicine. The aim is thus to "translate" knowledge, mechanisms and techniques generated by basis science research into new approaches for diagnosis and treatment of disease. The reverse is also true, namely to translate clinical observations into new research questions.
The recent far-reaching and dynamic developments in molecular and cellular research set high satandards for the training of future clinicians who are able to this field. Equally, these developments dictate the need for scientists who are able to understand the rationale behind diagnosis and therapy, who can guide the use of new molecular knowledge into clinical practice. Interdisciplinary cooperation is an essential key to success in this endeavour.
Our compact, one-year Master of Science program focuses on meeting these demands, and systematically provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in the frontier of translational medical research. Reflecting the research foci of our faculty, students can choose to specialize in Molecular Oncology, Neurobiology or Vascular Medicine

Aim of the course:
We want to introduce participants to the educational and cultural aspects of engineering studies at the Carl Benz School of Engineering. For every Summer Course we focus on specific engineering topics and organize workshops/visits to institutes of the KIT and engineering companies. In addition to the academic program, we offer interesting and entertaining leisure activities.
WHEN? The summer course will take place from 25 June to 02 July 2010 in Karlsruhe/Germany.
WHO CAN APPLY? Our program is especially designed for technically-inclined high school student in your last two years of secondary education.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION 2010: This year, the emphasis of the summer course is on railway systems. There are not only lectures and pratical workshops lead by various specialists from the Department of Railway Systems at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), but also the chance to take part in challenging "hands-on" metalworking. In the Institute of Information Management in Engineering, you can experience "virtual machine construction" and in the Research Center here in Karlsruhe, you will have the opportunity to learn more about "Robots in the Production Process". A visit to the world famous Daimler AG will complete our academic agenda. We kick off the leisure activities of our program with a "Welcome Party" in the courtyard of the International Department. This event gives you the unique opportunity to experience international student life at the Carl Benz School of Engineering. A guided tour through Karlsruhe and visit to the Palace gardens will be organized to familiarize you with the city and the German culture. We have organized two other enjoyable excursions near Karlsruhe: the visit to the Europapark in Rust and a local go-kart course in Landau.
COSTS: The costs for the course will amount 650 EUR, excluding travel and accommodation expenses.
