Are you interested in new technologies, enjoy solving problems, and like working in interdisciplinary teams? If you also have basic German language skills, our Bachelor in Computer Science is the perfect choice for you.

In eight semesters, you will acquire not only the latest IT skills but also proficient German language and intercultural competencies. The program is designed for international students with a basic knowledge of German (level A1) who are not yet fluent enough to study fully in German. You will start studying in English and get intensive German training so that you can switch to lectures in German later on!

Program structure:

Semester 1 and 2:

  • basic subjects of computer science taught in English (e.g. Mathematics, Operating Systems and an Introduction to Programming)
  • intensive German language training and intercultural preparation

Semester 3 to 5:

  • mainly taught in German
  • modules in the core areas of computer science such as Web Development, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or IT Security

Semester 6 and 7:

You have the opportunity to further deepen your knowledge in individual topics. You can choose your modules from the subject catalog (e.g. RESTful Web Services, Robotics, Internet of Things or Data Analysis and Data Mining).

Semester 8: Practical project and thesis

Hof University offers an attractive and open-minded study environment, especially for international students. As a practice-oriented University of Applied Sciences, the employability of our graduates is the main focus of our teaching.
