Every year the DAAD supports well over 130,000 German and international students and academics worldwide and is thus one of the most important funding organisations of its kind worldwide. Furthermore, it contributes to the internationalisation of German universities, supports developing countries in the development of their education systems and promotes German language and literature abroad. Its Artists-in-Berlin programme is among the world’s most respected fellowship programmes for artists. The DAAD is an association of German universities based in Bonn and Berlin. There are DAAD Regional Offices in 15 countries, including Poland. The DAAD network includes 56 information centres on all continents.
The DAAD has been intensively committed to German-Polish academic relations since 1958 – there has been a DAAD Regional Office in Warsaw since 1997. It is located in the centre of the Polish capital and is housed in the same building as the Foundation for German-Polish Collaboration (SdpZ).
In addition to their academic teaching, Lektors represent the DAAD at their respective universities. They provide information about Germany as a place to study and do research and about funding opportunities through the DAAD and other organisations.
Do you have any questions about studying or doing research in Germany? We warmly invite you to visit or call the DAAD Regional Office in Warsaw during our consultation hours, or to send an e-mail.
